Make sure you let go of the buttons once the device starts rebooting, otherwise you might end up in Recovery Mode, which you probably don’t want. If the device is just completely frozen-which shouldn’t usually happen, but every so often it does-you can hold down both the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time until the device reboots itself. Once the device is off, you can use the Sleep/Wake button to turn it back on again-just hold the button down. You can simply hold down the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears, and then slide it across.
